Yes, I am a workaholic. But no, I did not "work hard" on my birthday...for a change! Haha!
Today and the next couple of days, I am really determined to calm that workaholic conscience that murmurs "max out your time, RJ!" and allow myself (and my kids!) to relax and hug some more.
(It's hard and still hard but for fellows, here's a WikiHow for us: http://www.wikihow.com/Stop-Being-a-Workaholic . Acceptance is the key to the first step! *wink)
So how did #TeamRodillo celebrate my #July4th in 4 easy ways?
1. STAYCATION. We chose to celebrate quietly this year in the comforts of this very nice Airbnb "home" of Ms. Aida fronting no less than the breathtaking view of Taal Lake and Metro Manila skyline -- such a perfect combo!
2. MUSIC MATTERS. Aside from my kids and James, music is my happy place. Actually even for work, I get in the zone with songs that'd put me in the moment. So for my birthday, my three James and even my ate, Madame Helene, just rode along with whatever made me so happy!
Special thanks to our place's Sofa Bed Bluetooth Speaker (yes, you heard it right!) and my handy dandy SM Cyberzone magic mic, we were able to go videoke-party mode anytime of the day!
3. NO-WORK-MOMMY GOT A REWARD! I got a special string of gifts: a special happy birthday song from Jam and JJ; delicious spaghetti, chopseuy and buttered shrimp from Madame Helene and THE dance number from my babas! WATCH IT NOW!!!
Kidding aside, this nakaka-LSS and LDS Dahil Sa'yo hit of Inigo Pascual is now my favorite Mother's Day/Father's Day song. See the excerpt of its lyrics and you'll know why:
Ikaw ang tanging inspirasyon At basta't nandito ka ako'y liligaya
Dahil sa'yo ako'y matapang Dahil sa'yo ako'y lalaban Para sa'yo pagmamahal na walang katapusan Dahil sa'yo merong pangarap Pagmamahal ko sayo'y tapat Para sa'yo pagmamahal na higit pa sa sapat
4. I GOT TO WRITE...again! After 120 years, I got to write this way again. Thanks to my husband and to this beautiful place where we're in, I got inspired to hit the keys again for some #metime.
I promise, I'll do this more often.
